Born into an artistic family in Tehran, Iran, in 1992, Sam Chegini developed a deep passion for the fine arts from an early age.
Despite the challenges of pursuing art and music in Iran, Sam’s determination and quest for knowledge led him to connect with artists worldwide, participating in international contests and exhibitions from his late teens onward.
His career as a filmmaker began with short films and experimental shorts before transitioning into music videos — a medium where his love of music, animation, and visual storytelling could converge. Over the past decade he has directed and produced dozens of music videos, commercials, and motion graphic pieces for artists, brands, and cultural institutions.
Alongside live-action work, Sam developed a parallel practice in 2D and 3D animation, video mapping, and large-scale projection art — using the same eye for rhythm and composition to make architectural surfaces come alive.
He also hosts SamChats, an online talk-show featuring conversations with creatives, musicians, and cultural figures across the diaspora.
